More about the estate & its history

MECCE 2 - Estate

Mount Edgecombe Country Club Estate comprises three entities: the Country Club, Estate One and Estate Two. Estate Two is the larger and younger of the two golfing estates. Each estate has its own 18-hole golf course amidst the pristine green-roofed residences, and the entire complex is fenced and gated with stringent access controls in place. State-of-the-art security ensures peace of mind for residents and facilitates safe open-door living.

Estate Two is located in the pulse of Mount Edgecombe in close proximity to Umhlanga’s premium shopping malls, beautiful beaches and private schools. The N2 highway also allows for convenient travel to the airport and other destinations.

Estate Two is split into nine villages, each named after famous golf courses in America: Bellerive, Cherry Hills, Crystal Downs, Greenbrier, Kingwood, Merion, Pinehurst, Quail Valley and Southern Hills.

The estate is a conservancy, which is another draw-card for outdoor family living. Walkers, joggers and cyclists enjoy the freedom of a secure estate in a natural setting. For nature lovers, there are short family-friendly trails frequently visited by the estate’s wildlife, such as impala, blue duiker and bushbuck. The estate also boasts several beautiful dams with an abundance of birdlife, from purple and giant heron to fish eagle and steppe buzzard. The conservancy is also nurtured by Environmentally Protected Areas and alien vegetation control.

To be the most prestigious and secure golf estate, offering residents an exceptional lifestyle in a tranquil and green environment.

Since its inception, Estate Two has taken care of its environment. Residents support this lifestyle and are actively involved.

The estate's gardens, which are 70% indigenous, are designed around the environment. Instead of dumping garden waste, it is converted to mulch / compost.

The golf courses are irrigated by water from the estate's dams. Rainwater is harvested through the use of Jo-Jo tanks and irrigation is controlled to reduce water wastage.

Residents are encouraged to adopt an eco-friendly lifestyle, which is why the installation of solar solutions is permitted in an effort to save electricity.

The estate has two collection points for bottles. Paper and cardboard is recycled through the municipal orange-bag collection programme Glass and cans are recycled through the municipality's clear bag initiative.

To ensure that the highest standards set in all disciplines in monitored and maintained by efficient management and staff, applying rules and guidelines to good effect.

To give priority to the safety and security of people, wildlife and assets within the estate through effective management and technology. To be uncompromising in the approach to safety and security.

To maintain the conservancy at the highest possible level for the benefit of all who live in the estate, including wildlife.
